Proposing a Model to Evaluate Communication Technologies in Mobile Communication Industry

Abstract

In recent decades, since increasing the competition between
organizations for developing products and services, creating and
developing modern technologies has been strongly growing. In such
circumstances, the main challenge of organizations is development or
acquisition of the right technology in respect of the organizational goals.
Thus, this study intends to present a scale for evaluating communication
technologies in mobile communication industry which is provided by a
mixed research. The initial model is attained through a comprehensive
technology literature review and some semi-structured interviews with
technology top managers. Then, using exploratory factor analysis and
confirmatory factor analysis, validity of the proposed model and scale is
assessed. Findings show that the communication technologies evaluation
have correlations with technical capability, technology knowledge,
market, strategic and financial criteria and the technology knowledge is
the most important dimension and followed by strategic criteria and
market.
